Photoshoot FAQ’s

Photoshoot FAQ's

These are some of the frequent questions I get asked. If your question is not covered here, drop me a line and I will be happy to help.

Where are you based?
I am based in Plymouth, Devon on the south coast of the United Kingdom. I regularly work in London, Birmingham and Manchester. I am available for commissions all over the world. Contact me for more details.

How long is an average shoot?
The duration of a photoshoot can vary depending on the type of session and your specific needs. Most photoshoots typically last between 1 to 2 hours, but half-day sessions are available for more extensive projects, such as portfolio builders. During the consultation, we’ll determine the time needed to achieve your goals.

What should I wear to my Photoshoot?
Your wardrobe should reflect the theme and style of the shoot. For actor headshots, simple, neutral-toned clothing works best. For portfolio builders or lifestyle shoots, you may want a mix of casual, formal, and creative outfits. Always bring options, and feel free to discuss ideas in advance to ensure your wardrobe aligns with the overall vision of the shoot.

If you are attending a beach shoot or artistic nude photoshoot, please refrain from wearing tight clothing for at least an hour beforehand, as it can leave ugly marks on your skin.

Where are photoshoots held?
Photoshoots are typically conducted on location, such as urban environments, beaches, parks, or other natural backdrops, to create visually stunning images. Studio shoots are also an option if a controlled environment is preferred. Locations will be tailored to your needs and the concept of the session.

What happens if the weather is not very good?
If the weather is unsuitable for an outdoor shoot, we’ll either reschedule for a better day or adapt by choosing an alternative location, such as a covered space or studio. Flexibility is key to ensuring you get the best results, regardless of the conditions.

Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes, I am available to travel worldwide for photoshoots. While many sessions take place in Plymouth or Devon, I frequently travel globally for projects. Additional travel expenses may apply for locations outside the local area, and these will be discussed during the booking process.

Do I have to be a professional model to book a session?
Not at all! My photoshoots are open to everyone, from aspiring models to those who have never stepped in front of a camera. Whether you’re building your first portfolio or looking for confidence-boosting portraits, I’ll guide you through the process to make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Do you work with models and content creators for OnlyFans, SlipperyBean and other similar platforms?
Yes, I collaborate with models and content creators to produce professional-quality images tailored for platforms like OnlyFans and SlipperyBean. Content share agreements are available, or sessions can be commissioned outright, depending on your needs.

When is payment needed for my photoshoot?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due before or on the day of the shoot. For large projects or sessions requiring travel, additional arrangements may be made, which will be clarified during the consultation.

How many images do I get from a photoshoot?
The number of images varies depending on the type of session. For actor headshots, you’ll receive 5–10 fully edited images. Portfolio builder shoots include 10 edited images per outfit. The exact number will be confirmed based on the package you select.

Do you retouch or edit pictures?
Yes, all final images are professionally edited to enhance their quality while maintaining a natural look. This includes adjustments to lighting, color, and minor retouching where needed. I prefer minimal retouching to preserve natural beauty, but I’m happy to remove small marks or spots if required. If significant retouching is needed, additional fees may apply. Please discuss any specific retouching requests before your shoot.

Can I have a friend accompany me on a shoot?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a friend for support. However, I generally advise against having boyfriends, husbands, or partners accompany you, as their presence can sometimes unintentionally interfere with the creative process. Friends are fine, I have no objection to you bringing a friend.

I am a professional and will always behave respectfully, I also have a full enhanced DBS certificate.

Do you offer free photography?
Yes, I occasionally offer free photoshoots for specific projects. These projects include shared usage rights, allowing me to use your images for my website, social media, or photobooks.

Can I get exclusive rights to my images?
Absolutely. If exclusive usage rights are required, pricing will reflect this, starting from £999. This ensures that only you have access to the images, granting you full control over their use.

What is the process for booking a session?
To book a session, contact me directly to arrange a consultation via Microsoft Teams. After the consultation to discuss your needs, we’ll schedule a date and location. A deposit is then required to secure your booking.

Are all consultations held online?
Most of the time, yes. I work with clients worldwide, and online consultations via Microsoft Teams or similar platforms allow us to connect efficiently. Consultations typically last between 30 minutes and an hour.

Do you teach photography courses?
Yes, I offer a variety of photography courses, including “Using Off-Camera Flash,” “Learn to Edit Images in Lightroom,” and “Getting the Most Out of Kit Lenses.” These courses are designed for photographers of all skill levels and can be conducted one-on-one or in small groups.
